Lange, Mei add deep industry marketing and technology experience to guide XMC’s growth
WUHAN, China – February 4, 2013 - XMC (Wuhan Xinxin Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), a leading 12” semiconductor manufacturing company in China, today announced the appointment of two new members to its executive team, Dr. Walter F Lange and Dr. Shaoning Mei, who will head the company sales and marketing, and technology development, respectively. With decades of expertise in various aspects of the semiconductor industry, Lange and Mei will play an integral part in the leadership and growth of the company.
Dr. Walter F. Lange has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Marketing andSales. Previously, he served as Vice President of Marketing for Chartered Semiconductor (now part of GlobalFoundries).Before joining Chartered, he served for 28 years at IBM where he held multiplemanagement positions in CMOS technology development and marketing. Most recently he specialized in developing partnerships and wasa key driver behind the formation of the IBM Common Platform. He received his PhD in Metallurgical Engineering at Michigan Technological University.

Dr. Shaoning Mei joins XMC as the chief technology officer (CTO). In this newly created position, Dr. Mei will be responsible fordefining and developing specialized foundry technology platforms in conjunction with the company’s partners. He will also be responsible for building a world classtechnologydevelopment team at XMC. Dr. Mei has more than twenty five years of experience in research, development, and technology transfer. Prior to joining XMC, he servedas CTO at Huanghong NEC Electronics Co., Ltd, one of Mainland China's leaders in the field of IC foundry services. Additionally, he served in senior positions at Philips Semiconductors (NXP) and at IBM.He received his PhD in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
